Student Government

Student Government

Ascot High School Student Leaders

At Ascot High School, the Student Government serves as the voice and leadership arm of the student body, fostering responsibility, discipline, and representation among students. It is composed of two main branches — the Prefect Body and the Student Council — along with other student leadership roles within each class.

Prefect Body

The Prefect Body comprises:

  • Head Students: Head Boy and Head Girl
  • Deputy Head Students: Two Deputy Head Boys and Two Deputy Head Girls
  • Executive Prefects: Responsible for managing and coordinating the work of class prefects
  • Prefects, Sub-Prefects, and Class Monitors: These students help maintain discipline, promote school spirit, and ensure that standards of conduct are upheld throughout the school.

Student Council

The Student Council is a vital part of student representation at Ascot High School. This body represents the collective concerns and interests of the student population and works in partnership with school administration to enhance student life.

The Student Council Executive includes:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Public Relations Officer

Each of these positions has an assistant to ensure continuity and efficiency. Importantly, the Student Council President also serves as a representative on the School Board, ensuring that students’ perspectives are heard in key decision-making processes.

Class Leadership

In addition to the prefects and council members, each class has designated roles to support daily operations and care for school property:

  • Form Captains and Student Council Representatives are elected to represent their classes.
  • Property Managers are responsible for ensuring that classroom furniture and equipment are properly maintained and cared for.

Together, these student leadership groups form a strong network of responsible young leaders committed to upholding the values of Ascot High School and contributing to its continued growth and excellence.
