Ascot's Colts football team defeated Vauxhall today 4-1 at Ascot High School beginning their 2018 campaign with a win.

Stephen Reid opened the scoring today with two goals before the termination of the first half. Vauxhall managed to score a goal soon after reducing the deficit. However, any hopes they had of taking the iniative was dashed when Nickoy Bartley scored the third goal after deftly placing the ball in the net after taking a free kick awared outside the eighteen yards box. Then it became very clear that Vauxhall was being outplayed when substitute Jevaughn Goffe scored the fourth goal towards the end of the match.

The boys seemed relax and comfortable as they were able to create much needed plays without much challenge from their counterparts.

At the end of the match, jubilation and pride characterized the response of players and supporters.

The Pepsi teams of the both schools also played to a nil all draw. The match was for the most part ordinary but Ascot should have capitalized on the opportunities presented. Nevertheless, the Pepsi team did not yield any goals or points.

The both teams will go to Hillel this Tuesday. The school administration will continue to support the boys. Members of the school community are asked to support in any way they can. Congratulations to the Colts team for an outstanding win today.
