Accompanied by a contingent of students from grades 9-11, Mrs Michelle Field -the Head of the Department of Mathematics- participated in the Youth Link's inaugural Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Mathematics Workshop for urban area schools at the Mico Teachers' College Gymnasium on Thursday March 10, 2016.

Mrs Field was engaged by the Jamaica Gleaner's Youth Link who often publish a series of CSEC materials in various subject areas in the Tuesday publication of the Gleaner engaged our teacher to present at this event for two hours in the afternoon. Students from all over the corporate area and St. Catherine were invited to attend the seminar so that they can benefit from information which will be useful to them as they prepare to sit the CSEC Mathematics Examination. Her contribution would have undoubtedly equipped the participating students with the requisite skills and knowledge to aptly navigate through CSEC examination paper when they sit it in the near future. Students were very appreciative of her contribution and the contribution of the other presenters.

While our teacher was presenting, some of our students were involved in solving past paper questions and asking for clarifications on topics and/or concepts on which they needed more clarity. Students were treated to several prizes and surprises. One of our students was given a prize for solving a problem accurately.
