Ascot High School’s football team continues its campaign in the 2025 ISSA Manning Cup with determination and resilience.

After a challenging start to the season, the boys put on a spirited performance in their second outing yesterday, earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Dunoon Technical at Dunbeholden Football Club.

The result was a welcome improvement following last week Thursday’s opening match against Wolmer’s Boys, which ended 6-0 in favour of the hosts. Despite the setback, the Ascot team regrouped and showed character on the field, demonstrating growth, teamwork, and renewed confidence.

Yesterday’s encounter was competitive from the first whistle, with both teams pressing hard to gain the advantage. Ascot High showed improved discipline in defence and sharper execution in attack, culminating in a well-taken goal that kept the game balanced until the final whistle.

While the match ended in a stalemate, it provided encouragement for the Ascot faithful, who were pleased with the team’s fighting spirit and commitment. The coaching staff commended the players for their resilience and urged them to continue building on this performance as the season progresses.

Ascot High’s footballers remain focused on their mission to grow stronger with each game and to proudly represent the school in the Manning Cup competition.
